In response to the on-going impacts of the COVID19 pandemic, City Council has approved the use of American Rescue Plan Act funds, provided by the U.S. Treasury Department, to provide payment assistance to eligible applicants for rental, mortgage, or utility assistance.
The program provides assistance to households who have been negatively impacted by the public health emergency, known as COVID19. These households consist of those that have qualified for and receive unemployment benefits, experienced a job loss or reduction of income, has experienced a disproportionate economic harm due directly to the pandemic, or can demonstrate a risk of experiencing homeless or housing instability.
Beginning August 2, 2021, the Neighborhood Services Department will begin utilizing American Rescue Plan Act funds to provide financial assistance to those eligible households. Applications will be processed and assistance provided on a first-qualified, first-served basis.
