Our department relies heavily on Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA), physical evidence, and fingerprint analysis to solve crimes. Titusville is fortunate to have highly trained Crime Scene Technicians within our agency. Our Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) Unit consists of a Crime Scene and Evidence Manager and two full-time Crime Scene technicians who utilize a specially equipped facility located in our headquarters.
Solving Crimes
With the advancement of DNA technology and our Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIX), our agency has been especially successful in solving a number of major crimes, by crucial DNA profile matches and fingerprint matches. All three of our crime scene technicians have extensive training and certifications, as well as CSI Officer memberships with associations to assure we maintain the ever-changing advances in crime scene technology.
