Through Tuition Assistance, Titusville Encourages Manufacturing Careers
While efforts to create jobs, coupled with a maturing workforce, are resulting in a heightened demand for workers skilled in manufacturing processes, the supply of talent entering into the manufacturing sector is decreasing - both nationwide and in Brevard County.
In collaboration with the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) and Eastern Florida State College (EFSC), Titusville is contributing to an effort that aims to spark renewed interest in manufacturing through a scholarship for the Certified Production Technician (CPT) program. A nationally recognized industry certification program, successful completion of the 10-week course demonstrates that a student has mastered essential training in safety, quality practices and measurement, manufacturing processes and production, and maintenance awareness - all of which are vital skills that can be applied to every sector of manufacturing.
Obtaining the CPT certification is not only a solid first step to a rewarding career, but it is also worth up to 15 credits toward an Engineering Technology Associate’s Degree at EFSC. The CPT course is offered throughout the year.
