State law requires all youth ages 16 and younger to wear a bicycle helmet while operating a bicycle. Through the generosity of local organizations, the department has free bicycle helmets available to youth 16 years of age and younger, regardless of income (as long as unit supplies last). The child, along with a parent, must participate in a bicycle rodeo education event before they can receive a free helmet. Bicycle rodeos allow the child to learn all the facets of bicycle etiquette.
Please contact Titusville Fire and Emergency Services Headquarters office at 321-383-5708 to schedule participation in an upcoming bicycle rodeo. The child must be a citizen of Titusville in order to participate in the rodeo and receive a free helmet.
